    www.ird.govt.nz – we recommend you have your own MyIR login so you can update personal details, keep track of tax payments, and set up notifications to help ensure you don’t miss any payments.

    Tax Traders
    www.taxtraders.co.nz – this is a tax pooling company, providing a service where you can defer, finance or top up tax payments as needed while staying fully compliant with Inland Revenue. If cashflow is tight and you need to defer a tax payment due, we can set this up for you.

    ACC
    www.acc.govt.nz – you can check your details online, make sure your invoices are correct and can apply for ACC Cover Plus Extra, ACC’s agreed level of cover. Applying for ACC Cover Plus Extra has additional benefits to the standard cover, including: being paid 100% until you are 100% back at work, you pay levies in advance, and don’t have to go through the paperwork to prove your loss of income, as you have already agreed what you are covered for. This is especially beneficial when your income fluctuates or is seasonal.

    www.business.govt.nz – this is free resource of business information. We subscribe to their monthly newsletter, which always has something relevant and interesting to read.

    Employment New Zealand
    www.employment.govt.nz – great for learning about leave types and employer obligations. We subscribe to their newsletter, which again we find relevant and easy to read. Getting to understand all the things you need to know about employing is complex, but once you get your head around it, you can move forward with confidence.

    www.opes.co.nz – these guys provide a host of free advice, and have a podcast that is great to listen to if you want to learn more about investing in property in New Zealand.

    My Rent
    www.myrent.co.nz – an all in one platform for self-managing landlords. Easy to manage tenancies and if you subscribe to their newsletter a great resource including tips and tricks to be aware of when you are a landlord, e.g. 7 golden rules to selecting great tenants.
